About Aubrey
Aubrey

My first interior design project, if given a title, would be “Flowers with a Pastel Flare.” I guess that’s what you’d expect from a ten-year-old. Interior design has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I remember spending hours rearranging my room and envisioning different colors and layouts to give it the look that I wanted.

Having a lifetime interest in interior decorating—and the natural artistic ability to visualize and create—led me to decorate many friends’ and family members’ homes through the years. These years spent answering questions such as “Which one of these fabrics do you think I should use?” or “What color would you paint this room?” has made me realize that this is what I should be doing for a career. In fact, when I told my friends and family my plan to start my own business, the common response was, “It is about time, it’s what you were meant to do!”

I finally made the leap from just giving my friends and family great decorating ideas to booking clients. What I’m finding out is that when I tell people what I do, not only does it make for great conversation, but it validates that everyone wants a beautiful home. It is so rewarding to be doing something that I’m passionate about and where I love going to work everyday! I enjoy working with my clients and creating a place where they love to live. Not everyone has the knack or energy to create and decorate a beautiful place. Many people in fact feel overwhelmed when it comes to decorating their home and maybe you are one of them. Where I get a real joy is when I help someone and they are so inspired by what has been created that they can’t wait to tackle the next room.

I always thought interior design was a hobby and it would always be a dream to make it a career. It goes to show that dreams can come true.

“You can dream, create and design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality.” – Walt Disney

I feel the key to great design is to always remember who you are designing for. It is one thing to know the dos and don’ts of decorating, but the key is to really understand the wants and needs of each individual. Learning their interests, personality and uniqueness is essential to making their space their own place of Solace.

Aubrey transformed my living room from a very cluttered and cold place to an organized and calm environment. It is the first room that you see when you walk into my home and she made it feel more inviting and warm as people enter my home. She was also very conscious of my budget and worked hard to make sure we stayed within it. I would recommend her to anyone. She made it seem so easy, respected my budget and gave me a room that I love! Thank you!
