Solace Design is a home decorating company based in Minneapolis. We focus on interior home design. Our philosophy is simple: We believe that your home should be your place of solace. We will work with you to create the room(s) you want using what you have (and what’s important to you) and adding new items to create the room you are looking for. We listen carefully to what you imagine and want your home to be and work with you every step of the way. Because we realize that everyone has different tastes, lifestyles and budgets, we keep this in mind through all stages of planning, helping to ensure that the home you’ve imagined becomes your reality.
The following services are available and are billed on an hourly basis:
Consultations
If you are currently unhappy with a room or rooms in your home, we can change that. The consultation is our first step in creating a room that you will love. Our initial consultation will last approximately two hours. During this time, we will answer any design questions you may have and will consult with you to determine what needs to be done in order for you to feel contented with your home. We will discuss your style, what you hope for, what you want to keep, and what you will need to create a space that is pleasing to you. We also may discuss inspiration ideas, possible paint and fabric palettes, and rearranging options. At this point, we will also give you some ideas of changes you can make with a little shopping, by you, or us, and create a list of possible solutions to your design dilemmas.
Interior installation
From start to finish, we will work with you every step fo the way, as your needs, time, and budget allow, to give you the room you've always wanted. From seamstress, to handymen, to painters, we can provide you with all the resources you may need to complete your perfect room.
Interior redesign
Do you have a couch in front of a door? Is it difficult to carry on a conversation when you have guests because you are seated too far apart? Do you have to move your chair so that you can see your television? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may simply need a room redesign. For this service, we will rearrange what you already have to create a room that functions better and makes more sense for your needs. This may involve moving furniture, taking pieces from other rooms, or finding unused pieces in other parts of the house to create a space that will work best for you.
Staging for real estate showings
Someone once said that your house is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. It is a fact that people will pay more for a home they love. Initial impressions are vital in the real estate market. That is where we can help. We work with realtors and homeowners to create a home that is ideal for showing. We help you get rid of the clutter and help to streamline and mold your house into a showplace. This may involve simply de-cluttering and rearranging furniture or creating a shopping list for you, or us, to use to transform your home into a place a potential buyer will love.
Shopping
We are all incredibly busy people living in a world that doesn’t stop for us to shop for our homes. Many people know what they want, but simply don’t have the time or energy to shop around to find it. We will shop for you, or with you, depending on your needs. By doing this, you will have more time to enjoy your room, will feel more confident in your decisions, and also will avoid costly decorating mistakes.
Gift certificates
Is there someone in your life for whom you can never find the perfect gift? Look no further! We offer gift certificates for consultations as well as for shopping. How many people do you know who would love to have a more beautiful home? The better question may be how many people wouldn’t.
